Art In Bloom - The Milwaukee Art Museum - April 12-15, 2018
Spring comes alive at the Milwaukee Art Museum when Midwest floral artists take a single select art work in the Museum's Collection as inspiration for a floral creation. Their unique floral arrangements are placed adjacent to those works throughout the three floors of the Museum's collection, and are judged for prizes by floral professionals as well as the 15,000 art and flower lovers in attendance.
Marketplaces filled with flowers, clothing, purses, jewelry, garden accessories, and more feature local vendors and artisans. Food, wine and other beverages are on hand, and Inspirational and informative panels and workshops on floral subjects are offered throughout the event.
Jazz in the Park - Cathedral Square Park - May 31 – August 31, 2018
For its 50,000+ annual guests, Jazz in the Park, at Milwaukee's historic, downtown Cathedral Square Park, is the place to be on Thursday evenings. Sponsors reach a diverse audience as guests relax in a picnic style environment while listening to performances ranging from traditional jazz, to brass bands, R&B and everything in between. This Milwaukee mainstay has won "Best of Milwaukee" awards year after year.
Lakefront Festival of Art - Milwaukee Art Museum - June 15-17,2018
The festival brings art to life by offering for sale the juried works of over 170 artists from around the nation. Set on two acres of the lakefront grounds of the Milwaukee Art Museum, plus the main hall of the museum, the festival's 30,000 attendees enjoy music by local musicians throughout the day, a wide selection of delicious food from local vendors and activities for the entire family such as face painting, supervised children's art projects and more. For all it has to offer, the festival has been named one of the top twenty art festivals in America.
Bastille Days - downtown Milwaukee - July 12-15, 2018
Milwaukee’s popular and very unique French-themed festival, is a free four-day celebration that attracts over 200,000 visitors. Held on downtown streets adjoining seven blocks in Milwaukee’s centrally located East Town, as well as the historic Cathedral Square Park, fest-goers enjoy live music on four stages, a popular French-themed marketplace, chef demonstrations, French and Cajun cuisine and a signature 43-foot Eiffel Tower replica!
Festa Italiana - Henry Maier Festival Park - July 20-22, 2018
Festa Italiana is one of the largest Italian-American festivals in the country. Now in its 41st year, Festa guarantees four days of great Italian food, culture, arts, and a variety of musical entertainment for thousands of festival-goers of all ages. Festa also produces the largest daily fireworks display of all the festivals in Milaukee, fondly known as the "Abbondanza"!
Germanfest - Henry Maier Festival Park - July 13-15, 2018
One of the largest German festivals in North America, German Fest Milwaukee is known for its authentic food, culture and entertainment. The event, along with Summerfest and the many ethnic and cultural festivals held throughout the city, is what gives Milwaukee the nickname "City of Festivals.
MAM After Dark - Monthly - Milwaukee Art Museum
The ever elusive millennial crowd seizes the night and chooses their own art adventure! An always diverse crowd gathers each month to experience music, food, drinks, and art in the most famous building in the city. No matter what the theme, the museum transforms into a hot spot of activity and entertainment at MAM After Dark.
Cathedral Square Market
Every Saturday - May through September
Each week during the summer season, Cathedral Square Market (formerly East Town Market) transforms the park into a bustling marketplace. Visitors browse fresh produce, crafts and prepared foods from local vendors, then enjoy outdoor activities and live music. Each week offers something new for market attendees to enjoy, from Yoga, to dance classes to music. There is something for everyone at the farmers market.
